Paul Hawken
Paul Hawken is an author, having written seven books including The Next Economy (Ballantine 1983), Growing a Business (Simon and Schuster 1987), The Ecology of Commerce (HarperCollins 1993), Natural Capitalism: Creating the Next Industrial Revolution (Little Brown, September 1999) co-authored with Amory Lovins. His most recent book, Blessed Unrest: How the Largest Movement in the World Came Into Being, and Why No One Saw it Coming, (Viking 2007) is the culmination of over a decade of research exploring humanity's extraordinary capacity to address the social and environmental issues of our time. He is the executive director of the Natural Capital Institute, CEO of the Pax Engineering Group, co-founder of Highwater Global Fund, and Chairman of Biomimicry Ventures Group. He has served on the board of several environmental organizations including Point Foundation (publisher of the Whole Earth Catalogs), Center for Plant Conservation, Conservation International, Trust for Public Land, and National Audubon Society.
